CrossFit is HARD. CrossFit is FUN. CF makes me feel things. I don’t just mean soreness. I mean things like- FEAR, TREPIDATION, TENSION, EXCITEMENT, JOY, PAIN, EXHILARATION, EXHAUSTION.

It’s a mix of Highs and Lows. And you know what- I’ll take the lows. I like the nervous tension before the WOD. It means something to me. Namely, that I’m alive and about to attempt something remotely challenging. And when I’m done, I’ll be better because of it.

I’d be worried if I DIDN’T feel anything. It would mean that I’m numb. For whatever reason, numb to the sensations and effects- good or bad, mentally/physically/emotionally. That’s the opposite of LIVING and FEELING.

BE ALIVE!

“You owe it to yourself and the lives that generated yours to live as though you appreciated it. Over and above the fact that you’re healthier—and as a result cost everybody less money and aggravation while you’re here—there is just something wrong with getting up every day and moving through your existence with the least possible effort. Doing it this way makes you more than merely less than optimum.” -Mark Rippetoe
