Starting today, July 1, CrossFit Waxahachie is striking out to change our very own corner of the world. We have had a wonderful partnership with Sweat Angels and have loved the impact we have been able to make with several global charities and that impact inspired us to look a little closer to home to see what we could do to change the lives of people we encounter every day. Waxahachie and Ellis County have a lot of local heroes who are working diligently day-in-day-out to make the lives of our neighbors better. These Hachie Heroes go above and beyond to make a difference and since we’re in the life improvement business, we wanted to support them any way we could. The first Hachie Hero we are supporting is CASA, Court Appointed Special Advocates, a non-profit organization who have a volunteer force that fights for the rights of a child who has been placed under CPS custody. These heroes give the child a voice in the legal system and make sure the needs of the child are not overlooked by the court system.
How can you help?
Every time you come to the box you have the opportunity to shine some light on what CASA is doing by checking in on Facebook using the hashtag #HachieHeroes and #CASA. Tell your friends you are changing your life as well as raising awareness and support for this heroic organization. In addition to financial and social media support, it is our desire to serve the community along side our chosen heroes.
Last Friday we were able to help out with CASA’s annual garage sale fundraiser and they were deeply appreciative of our help and presence. On Friday, July 17th, will be our next service project opportunity with CASA. We will be participating in a poverty simulation from noon-5.
