We had known the Biles for many years, both as friends and as patients at their chiropractic clinic. My husband, best known around the box as Tractor, starting working out with Chris before he had even started his CrossFit box. In all honesty, I thought they were both crazy…David would come home from working out, hurting and moaning…I thought and said “I can’t believe you do that insane stuff.” David convinced me to go watch him at a Sven competition…yep they were crazy!

Reba takes on Fight Gone Bad in 2012.

In Jan of 2011, a dear friend of mine had agreed to participate in the CFW and Chick-Fil-A 40 day challenge. She had been through breast cancer and was trying to rehab her body. She was not able to participate so I agreed to take her place. I could not believe the difference that eating right and working out could make in our lives. As a family, we lost almost 100 pounds! And we felt so much better. I would like to say that we have continued to eat paleo and work out 3-4 days a week but that would not be the truth. We still struggle with consistency and have stayed on a roller coaster when it comes to eating. For the last three, almost four years, I have been a part of the family of CrossFit Waxahachie and I wouldn’t trade it for anything.

I have learned so much at CFW. One of the things that I have learned and continue to learn is that I can do more than I believe I can. If I treat my body with respect and push myself, there is nothing I can’t do it. I am becoming stronger than I ever believed I would be. I want to be healthy and in order to do that, I have to keep moving especially when I think I can’t. If you ask me what my favorite WOD is, I would say none of them! Every time I look at the workout, I think, oh I hate burpees, I hate running, I hate toes to bar….I realize I don’t like any of it but I love what it is doing to keep me healthy. I LOVE lifting heavy stuff and had never lifted weights before getting involved in CrossFit.

Determined.

My hope and prayer is to continue to get stronger and one day soon to actual compete in a CrossFit competition just to see how far I can push myself. I have to say my favorite thing about CFW is the positive environment that Coach Chris creates at the box. I love the people…they are family to me. If I am struggling with a WOD, someone will come and do it with me. The loudest cheers are sometimes for the person who finishes last! You don’t have to be the best, you just have to be “you”…the only person you are competing against is “YOU”, and “you” can always be a better you! Come find a family at CFW and let us help you!
