At CFW, we are a rather inclusive group. Show up to your class and workout for a week and all of the sudden you’ve bonded with the family (I think it has something to do with shared trauma). Anyway, what I’m saying is that CFW is a place where you BELONG.

Belong- b-lông- To be in an appropriate situation or environment. To be a member of a group, such as a club. To fit into a group naturally.

Yes, that’s definitely right. You belong. We take you in with one shared goal, one purpose- improvement. While that’s a great goal for whatever metric you’re looking for- weight loss, performance, health- did you know there certainly are other big rocks to focus on in this one life of ours?

Physical training is good, but training for godliness is much better, promising benefits in this life and in the life to come. 1 Timothy 4:8 (NLT)

I love, love, love the physical training we do at CFW! But did you check that verse out? What good is all my training if I’m not pursuing God? Pretty vain. On the other hand, if I’m well equipped and able to help my fellow neighbor because of my ability to do work- how beneficial is that? If I’m healthy and able to go on mission trips with my church- again, good stuff.

My one goal in starting CFW- build fit a community. In the back of my mind it’s always been fitness on multiple levels- physical, mental/ emotional, and yes, spiritual.

My pastor, Scott Wilson from the Oaks Fellowship, recently challenged our entire church body to start/ host a small group. Gulp! I began thinking- how can I make that happen? Where would I do it? What would it look like? I had one simple answer- the box.

So, we’re going to be hosting a small group and open gym on Wednesday nights starting Sept. 19th at 6:15pm. Here’s what you need to know:

What will the CFW small group do? We’re going to watch a short DVD message and have a discussion time afterwards.

Do I have to be a member of the Oaks to attend? No.

Do I have to be a member of any church to attend? No.

Do I have to be a member of CFW to attend? No. We want you to be in if you would like to join us.

What is the day/time? The small group will last 6 weeks and it’ll be on Wednesday nights at 6:15pm starting Sept 19th. Open gym time will be from 7:15 to 8:15pm.

Are you guys going to be weird? Not any more than usual. We’re not going to hold hands and sing Kum By Ya. It’ll be a relaxed time of learning and fellowship.

This will be a great time to focus on more than your physical journey. As a whole, the CFW community is strong. I believe this will be a great time of building relationships that will only solidify our community! Invite your friends who want to check out the gym for open gym afterwards. Let’s pack this place out!
