This question comes up in regards to CrossFit WODs a lot. Some people look at a workout like 5 RFT of 5 Deadlifts (heavy) and 10 Burpees and think, “That can’t be right. You can’t get a good workout in under 5 minutes, can you?” Or see a strength day and their inner cardio-nut goes, “You gotta get your heart rate up! That’s not a workout! You won’t burn fat!”

Nothing could be further from the truth. How many people do you know who are running miles and miles with little to show for it? How many of you guys rely on the “tried and true” method of counting calories burned in a long workout only to replace them when you eat?

Want to know a secret? The only thing I count is reps.

At CFW, we work out with intensity and go home. No wasted movement. No wasted time.

Do we get results? You decide…

You can do your hour and a half INSANITY. I’ll keep my 5 minute workout.

  1. I am scared. But I am also excited, apprehensive, interested, curious, fearful, bold, frightened and confident. Then I walk in the door of the Dungreon and all these emotions come back again. I really look forward to th work out whether it is 5 minutes of 45 minutes. Yes the short ones scare me too! Bring it on (I think)!

  2. Crazy Amazing– THATS SO TRUE!! I’ve changed more in the last 3 & 1/2 weeks than I have in the last few years of constant running and Zumba. No better proof than great results.
