For those of you who have been around a while-
I can’t believe it’s here! We finally made CrossFit Waxahachie happen. You made CrossFit Waxahachie happen! The same thing that happened to me over 3 years ago happened to a lot of you guys training at Better Functional Conditioning. You took on a CrossFit workout and never looked back. You traded treadmills and biceps curls for cleans, pull ups and burpees. You joined a community instead of just a gym. You know that the people sweating and working beside you have your back. You know more than just the faces of the people working out around you- you know their names, their kids names, and in many cases their goals and motivation for being there.
Some of you guys might wonder why we made the switch from BFC to CFW. Some of you might ask, “Weren’t we already doing CrossFit?” To that I would say, yes. Yes we were. I’m a CrossFit Certified Trainer and have been since March 2008. I’ve been using CrossFit methods ever since. I’ve used the bootcamp that I started in April of 2009 to help people lose weight, get in shape and feel better. And it’s been awesome! Lives have been changed, friends have been made, good times have been had! But I needed more. You guys deserved more. CrossFit is a philosophy and method of fitness programming that I wholeheartedly believe in. CrossFit gives us an identity. It gives us credibility and exposure that BFC could never do. It was a natural progression. BFC BootCamp isn’t going anywhere. It’ll stick around for those that enjoy more of a cardio-intensive workout.
I’m excited, scared and a little overwhelmed by all the possibilities ahead for CFW. Those are the very same feelings I have before every CrossFit workout. So I guess, in short, we’re good to go!
